Manage kindle collections via computer (Tutorial)

I bought my kindle some days back and i can't express how happy i am with it. All its features are too good. But one thing i find a bit difficult is managing the collections in kindle. In the beginning it was not that much a problem as the number of books were less. But as the number started increasing managing the books and sorting them into collections started becoming very difficult and boring. I don't understand why amazon has not made any provisions for managing the collections from the computer. Anyway, so i was looking around for some trick to manage the collections from the computer when i came across the Kindle collection manager.

Kindle Collection Manager
Kindle collection manager is a small utility program to manage kindle collections from the computer in windows. It is free and easy to use. Here is a tutorial for it.

Step 1) Click here to download it.

Step 2) You need to have .Net Framework 4 or higher to use it. A setup is provided in the downloaded folder. Clicking it will download the framework and install it. After that install the kindle collection manager.

Step 3) First connect the kindle to the computer. Then start the kindle collection manager. You will get a new window. At the left side it shows the files on the kindle as you see on the computer and on the right side it shows the kindle collections as you see on your kindle.


Step 4) Below are the things you can do in kindle collection manager.

• Create or delete collections:- To create a new collection or delete a existing one , right-click on the collection part of the window.
• Add files to the collection:- The file to be added should be initially in the kindle drive. You will see the file in the left side, just drag the file and place it in the desired collection.

Step 5) When done click on the "Commit changes to kindle" button and then on "Eject kindle and close" button. This will save the collections in the kindle and eject the kindle.

Step 6) To see the changes you have to restart the kindle, to do so click "menu" button in the kindle then choose "settings" option from the menu. Then in settings, again click "menu" button and choose the "Restart" option.

Note: This tutorial was made using the kindle keyboard model and i cant be sure if it works for the newer models. So if any body has tested it on some newer model, please share your experience with us.
