DownThemAll (Firefox Download Manager)

DownThemAll is one of the most popular Firefox addon to accelerate and manage your downloads. Here are some of it's main features

1) It uses a smart technique called "Multipart Download". Using this technique it splits the files in multiple section, which it then tries to download simultaneously. The developers claim this these technique can increase the download speed up to 400%.

2)The dTa ‘Select links’ window lists every single link, image or embed object contained in the webpage. This is useful if you want to download a large amount of files in just a few seconds, you need to simply select the files you need and you’ll be ready to start.

3) dTaOneClick downloads the files of a page using the last filters and the last renaming mask you set. So, if you are surfing the web downloading mp3s or pictures, for example, you’ll just have to find the page you want and to click on dTaOneClick… and all your downloads will start. No need to select them first.

4) You can limit the speed of you downloads this is very helpful if you want to browse the web simultaneously as you download

PERSONAL NOTE:- It's a very useful addon and i have been using it for some days now. Though my speed has not increased 400% but i can notice that it has increased atleast 150 to 180 % but that's not bad. The other features are also too good, like you can limit the download speed so you can browse the web simultaneously as you download. This is very useful for user's with slow Internet connection. One more feature which i liked was that it makes a sound when the download is complete, so you can switch off the monitor and wait for the sound instead of repeatedly checking by switching on the monitor.
