One of the most irritating things we across while copy-pasting text from online sources like Wikipedia is the hyperlinks and formatting it consists. When you paste the text in your word processor all this formatting is retained by the word processor. I have seen some people reformatting the text one word at a time. If you are a information gatherer like me, the reformatting of the text one word at a time will soon become a headache, so here are some of the popular solutions which you can use to prevent the unnecessary hardship. I have arranged the solutions, starting with solutions for occasional use to regular use.
1) One of the simplest method is to copy the online text, paste it first in your notepad. Then copy the text again from the notepad and paste it in your word processor.

PureText is a small and free windows utility program to remove the hyperlinks and formatting of the online text. To use it, first Download and install the program. When you start, its icon will appear in the taskbar. Now copy the text you want and to paste it use "Windows button + v key". You can change this shortcut and set other preferences by right-clicking on the icon in the taskbar.
